In May 2024, Beyond Noise will hit stands as a two-volume print magazine, housed in a slipcase, with cover stars including the New York Times chief fashion critic Vanessa Friedman, Ayo Edebiri (shot by Tyler Mitchell), Vittoria Cerretti (shot by Zoe Ghertner), plus a cover with new photography by Catherine Opie—more to be announced. The Editor-in-Chief of Beyond Noise, Sarah Richardson, has assembled a stacked team that includes co-founders Richard Bush and Stefan Ericsson, along with Holly Shackleton, Anders Christian Madsen, Lucia Pieroni, Magnus Edensvard, Tom Macklin, Christopher Michael, Fran Burns, Venetia Scott, Julia Lange, Marina Testino, and Omar Karim with Gareth Hague and Sara Hemming Studio working on the issue’s physical design.

Contributing photographers for the inaugural issue include Mario Sorrenti, Craig McDean, Juergen Teller, Malick Bodian, Larissa Hoffman, Gray Sorrenti, Melanie + Ramon, and Sam Taylor Johnson.

The debut issue will open with an urgent and inspiring manifesto, penned by conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall (the manifesto will sit in place of the traditional editor’s letter, penned by a different visionary woman each issue). There will be a deep dive into Azzedine Alaïa’s archive; op-eds by Sarah Mower, Joan Juliet Buck, Nada Alic, and Mindy Seu, among others; a feature on punk metamorphosis revisiting Alexander McQueen’s 1999 No. 13 finale; a photo portfolio depicting rewilding efforts in Patagonia by Laurence Ellis; original fiction; and much more.

ABOUT

Beyond Noise is an independent multimedia brand for the modern woman, comprising of a bi-annual sustainable luxury print magazine and cutting-edge interactive platform. A commitment to creativity, meaningful and digestible content, and informed optimism

drive the Beyond Noise voice—rooted in the cultural capitals of New York City and London and global in its embrace of singular perspectives across fashion, art, culture, film, music, fiction, technology, environmentalism, and more.

Beyond Noise sets a new standard for the “women’s magazine” through contemporary, original, and engaging visuals and writing—quite literally in equal parts. Each print issue, split into two distinct volumes, BEYOND and NOISE, is printed on sustainable paper and

dye inks. BEYOND is dedicated purely to fashion imagery, and NOISE is dedicated to words and editorial features. Beyond Noise takes a holistic approach to the question of femininity, elevating primarily but not exclusively female talent and trailblazers whilst focusing on the people, communities, places, histories, questions, and creations that move today’s modern woman.

Through sophisticated simplicity we endeavor to live beyond the noise and resonate with our readers, their personal narratives, and what it means to be a woman today. In so doing, we hopefully allow her to gain some agency outside the monotonous beat of the mainstream.
